Tasmanian Irrigation welcomes new Board Directors

Tasmanian Irrigation has welcomed the appointment of two new Directors to the Company’s Board.

Consistent with Tasmanian Government policy, a recruitment process was run to seek suitable candidates for two expiring Director positions.

Tasmanian Irrigation Board Chair Kate Vinot said two Directors at the end of their first term had successfully applied to be reappointed to the Board, and two new Directors had also been appointed.

“We welcome the skills and experience our new Directors will bring to what is already an effective Board,” said Ms Vinot.

“Andrew McShane is well known to Tasmanian Irrigation, as a farmer on the Midlands Irrigation Scheme. His decades of experience in farming and irrigation position him well to make an important contribution to Board deliberations.

“Our second new Director, Gene Phair, has significant experience in finance and corporate leadership, and extensive experience as a non-executive director. These attributes and his knowledge of key governance issues for State Owned Companies will be a valuable addition to the leadership of Tasmanian Irrigation.”

Judith Lyne and Laura McBain have been reappointed for a second term.

All four Directors will be formally appointed at the Company’s Annual General Meeting on 5 December 2024. The new Directors will attend their first Tasmanian Irrigation Board meeting the following week.
