Tasmanian Irrigation Pty Ltd is a State-owned Company that develops, owns and operates irrigation schemes in Tasmania, in accordance with sound commercial practice, to facilitate the expansion of agricultural production in the State.
Tasmanian Irrigation owns and operates 19 irrigation schemes across the state, along with additional inherited infrastructure. Tasmanian Irrigation’s promise to our irrigator customers is to “provide irrigators reliable and consistent water at the lowest sustainable price while responsibly and sustainably managing our water resources, scheme assets and the environment.”
The Company also oversees development of irrigation schemes, funded through a unique public / private partnership model.
Tasmanian Irrigation now oversees 26,000 individual infrastructure assets with a replacement value of approximately $500 million and has the capacity to deliver more than 151,000 megalitres of irrigation water each year.
All schemes developed and operated by Tasmanian Irrigation are economically viable, environmentally sustainable, have strong community endorsement, are designed to last at least 100 years and deliver water at an average reliability of more than 95 per cent per annum.
ABOUT THE ROLE
Tasmanian Irrigation is seeking a motivated Corporate Services Officer to support our Corporate Services team in delivering high-quality administrative and operational services. This critical position provides day-to-day administrative support, relief coverage for key corporate services roles, and contributes to a range of operational functions across the organisation.
Key responsibilities include:
• General office administration to ensure smooth day-to-day operations.
• Assisting with accounts receivable and accounts payable functions, including invoicing, payments, and reconciliations.
• Governance support and water trade processing, including database updates and management.
• Developing and maintaining reporting tools to support organisational decision-making.
• Providing relief coverage for key roles during absences to ensure continuity of service delivery.

WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate the following skills and attributes:
Core Competencies
• Strong administrative skills, including maintaining accurate records, managing filing systems, and supporting daily office operations.
• Knowledge of accounts receivable/payable processes, including invoice management, payment processing, reconciliation, and financial reporting.
• Proficiency in database administration, with experience managing water trade applications and registers.
• Proficiency in the Microsoft Office suite, with a particular emphasis on intermediate Excel skills.
• Flexibility to handle ad hoc duties and manage shifting priorities effectively.
• A process improvement mindset to assist in developing and implementing efficient systems and processes.

• Strong problem-solving and analytical abilities to identify and address challenges effectively.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with experience engaging with internal and external stakeholders.

Desirable Skills and Qualifications
• Certificate III in Business Administration or equivalent qualification.
• Previous experience in business administration or a similar role.
• A proactive approach to process improvement and efficiency.
