ABOUT US
Tasmanian Irrigation Pty Ltd is a State-owned Company that develops, owns and operates irrigation schemes in Tasmania, in accordance with sound commercial practice, to facilitate the expansion of agricultural production in the State.
Tasmanian Irrigation owns and operates 19 irrigation schemes across the state, along with additional inherited infrastructure. Tasmanian Irrigation’s promise to our irrigator customers is to “provide irrigators reliable and consistent water at the lowest sustainable price while responsibly and sustainably managing our water resources, scheme assets and the environment.”
The Company also oversees development of irrigation schemes, funded through a unique public / private partnership model.
All schemes developed and operated by Tasmanian Irrigation are economically viable, environmentally sustainable, have strong community endorsement, are designed to last at least 100 years and deliver water at an average reliability of more than 95 per cent per annum.
ABOUT THE ROLE
This newly created role will drive effective engagement and communication practices across Tasmanian Irrigation’s projects, supporting delivery of critical infrastructure. The role will also support other corporate communication activity.
You’ll work closely with Project Managers and provide advice at individual project level and across the construction portfolio.
We are looking for someone with demonstrated senior experience and qualifications in communication and engagement, who is a problem solver and a relationship builder.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED TO SUCCEED
Our ideal candidate will meet the following criteria:
• A minimum of 5 years working in a communication and engagement capacity.
• Tertiary qualifications in Marketing, Public Relations or Communications and / or formal training in stakeholder engagement.
• Significant experience in stakeholder engagement in a government and project delivery context.
• Significant experience in contemporary communication practice, including news media management, social and digital media, and event management.
• Demonstrated high level conceptual, analytical and problem-solving skills, including the ability to analyse evidence, interrogate data and provide strategic advice and solutions.
• Demonstrated high-level interpersonal skills and exceptional written and oral communication skills, including the ability to prepare high-level documentation relevant to a range of audiences.
• Demonstrated team player who has a track record of providing high quality support to project teams.
The following would be highly regarded:
• Experience working in a water-related, agricultural or construction environment.
• Experience with video editing software
• Graphic design ability
