Water Flow and Quality Data

Tasmanian Irrigation collects water level, flow and quality and rainfall information to assist with its operations. Some of this data is made available to the public via the internet in near real time to assist members of the public to plan their business or other activities.

Tasmanian Irrigation’s available information may be accessed through the Department of Primary Industries, Parks, Water and Environment’s Water Data Portal.

Terms and Conditions for use of Tasmanian Irrigation’s Published Water Information

The water information collected and published by Tasmanian Irrigation (and other agencies) can include either raw data or value-added information, such as plots that relate to water flow, quantity and quality or rainfall (Published Water Information).

The Published Water Information includes telemetered data from the various field probes and sensors, which is transmitted and published by automatic processes. In order that the Published Water Information is as up to date as possible it is published in its raw form as it is received and before it has been checked or verified. Other Published Water Information such as water quality data is obtained and recorded manually.

From time to time the Published Water Information may be incorrect or incomplete (eg. the field probes and sensors may malfunction).

Whilst Tasmanian Irrigation uses reasonable effort to ensure that the Published Water Information is accurate, we do not warrant its accuracy, adequacy or completeness and nor do we undertake to keep it updated. To the extent permitted by law, Tasmanian Irrigation excludes all liability to any person arising directly or indirectly from using the Published Water Information.

The Published Water Information is not intended to be and nor should it be relied upon as a substitute for professional advice. Users should obtain any appropriate professional advice relevant to their particular requirements.
